This was the BEST trip! We loved taking our kids. They were just old enough that it wasn't too much work. Addysin, of course, was easy. Caiden (just over 2 at the time) only got whiney when he couldn't stay awake any longer, but then we would figure a way to get him to sleep. The days really wore us out, especially since we did Disney world 4 1/2 days. We all loved it though. The kids still love looking at the pictures, 4 months later. The reason is was extra awesome is because our kids are obsessed with every disney character, especially the Classic ones- like Mickey and Minnie.
Day 1- October 31- Travel day
Thank goodness for portable DVD players. Too bad ours dies after one movie.
This was pretty amazing. Caiden never falls asleep on us. We had 4 seats, and used 2 during a lot of the flight. So comfy :)
We stayed at Springhill Suites Marriott by Sea World. It was about 10-15 minutes from Disney World. Addysin calls it our house at Disney World. She has asked to go back a few times.
Day 2- Animal kingdom and Anna's Family
This is entering Disney World on the Freeway. Then you drive a few more miles to whichever park you're visiting.
This day was perfectly planned (coincidently), because it was really hot and Animal Kingdom is the most shaded because of all the trees, and nature.
CRAZY STORY! The parking lots are HUGE so its important to take a picture of the row you park on. We went to Disney World 2 years ago and parked on this exact row! Chris still had the picture on his iphone, thats how he remembered.
First Character we stood in line for. Caiden was in complete awe every time. Look at him, so sweet.
Not, as cool in picture, but super cool in person. Giraffe and baby.
Caiden saying "chhheeeeeesssseee". He went through a phase where he had to do his hands like that when he said "cheese".
Chris went on a roller coaster while we stood in line for pluto and goofy. Caiden was being a nightmare, I had 2 umbrella strollers, a huge headache, and people were watching us. Whatever. Watch all you want people. Caiden didn't wait in line very well to see the characters. He didn't understand why he couldn't just walk up to them.
Addysin was tall enough to go on this rafting ride so we went right as the park was closing in case we got soaked. Addysin did. We got on a raft with very prepared Asians. This let us borrow a yellow pancho. Addysin was so proud of herself for going on a big ride. It was Chris' idea. I never would have thought to see if she was big enough.
Chris' sister Anna lives 45 minutes from where we were staying so they came for swimming and dinner that night. The kids all LOVED each other.
Day 3- Magic Kingdom
Starting our third day exhausted. Caiden slept on the short ride to the park.
Race cars the kids got to drive.
411- the lines at Magic Kingdom were the worst by far out of the 4 parks we went to. We waited forever for these Elephants. The things we do for our little cuties.
Did I mention how bad this killed our backs? And the really incredible thing was the line was for "Peter Pan", one of the most popular rides in the Magic Kindom. It was the longest line was stood in for sure, and definitely NOT the coolest ride. But the line was covered so we didn't get poured on. Thats all that mattered. When we got off the ride, the rain had miraculously stopped!
Look at the pain in his eyes.
Just after Addysin woke up. We were all damp. If you ever go, take pancho's. You never know when its going to down pour, and Disney sells them for a fortune!
Addysin's favorite place, Minnie's House! (The princess area was under construction so she didn't get to see one princess! Good thing she has a million Disney Favorites.)
He is the sweetest little boy (when he wants to be). He hugged, kissed, or said "I Love You" to every character he saw.
The Electrical parade at the end of the day- 9 PM
Day 4- Blizzard Beach!
This was the funnest, most perfect day. And they were all really great days. The weather was hot, the park wasn't crowded, and the kids LOVED it. We got no pictures though... so sad.
I just have to add that I went on Summit Plummet. Its a slide that drops straight down, going 55 mph. Its one of the fastest and tallest water slides in the United States! Dont worry, I closed my eyes the entire way down.
Day 5- Hollywood Studios and Anna's Family
The best family ride in all the parks. Toy Story. The line is even the best, even though its long. These two pictures are in line.
The ride is a 3D game.
Lovin on the Super Heros.
Chris working his magic, while I went on Rockin' Roller coaster.
Super awesome Roller coaster.
That evening we went to Anna's house for dinner. It was SOO fun to be with them.
Day 6- Big Mistake Day- Hollywood Studios, Missed Flight, and Anna's Family
We got 5 days of Disney World Passes for the price of 4 days. Our Flight on Friday wasn't leaving until 3:30 so why not go back to Hollywood Studios? Well, we had to go on Toy Story, of course...
...and see little America that we didn't have time for before.
We found a fun "Honey, I shrunk the kids" play area.
And then, this is where our trip fell apart. We were allowing the perfect amount of time to get to the airport. We didn't have an hour to waste, which wasn't smart. Chris went on Rockin' Roller Coaster while the kids and I went to meet Woody and Buzz.
We got out to the car, and Chris didn't have the keys!!! He lost them on the roller coaster! We rode the tram back to the park, Chris ran to the back of the park to the ride while the kids and I stayed on the tram because caiden was asleep. Mistake #2. Somehow they had found the keys and they were at the lost and found. So he got the keys, and had to wait for the tram we were on to return. We rushed to the airport and got there 30 minutes before our flight. We needed to be there 45 minutes beforehand. We had to re-book our flights. (One small detail- we flew for free with our skymiles. Thats the whole reason we took the trip). The fees to re-book were $600! Chris was Not happy. We couldv'e gone back to the park, but we weren't quite in the mood.
Instead we drove an hour to Anna's house. It was super fun to be with them another night though. We stayed at a hotel closer to the airport, I had minor stomach flu that night and the next day, and we got home Saturday. Not the best way to wrap things up, but we were so glad we got another night with Anna, Joseph and their sweet girls. Caiden ADORED those girls. Every chance he got he was hugging one of them. So cute.
Well, Disney World twice in two years does it for us. We love that place, but wont be going back until our kids are teenagers. It was an awesome week, and I hope our kids are old enough to remember it in years from now.
