Enriquez, Bleazard, Ellsworth reunion

When I was 10 Years old, the Enriquez family moved next door. Their dad, Juan Sr., started working on the farm. Our families were very close. Their whole family was baptized into the LDS church and then sealed together in the temple. They are a really great family. Sadly, Juan and one of his daughters, Laura,  were killed in a family car accident about 12 years ago. Bertha and her two youngest live in Texas so when they were up here visiting, we all got together at my house. It was a ton of fun! Just like old times, we had a BBQ and played volleyball.

Yes, I amaze myself. I removed Caiden's stitches while he was sleeping :) I cant stomach very much, but the thought of having him strapped to a bored, screaming was something I knew I would bawl through. So I toughened up and removed them myself... piece of cake, actually. And it helps that he is a deep sleeper.

Caiden's GIANT owie

Saturday night we decided to go on a "family date". We chose "Old Country Buffet". Yuck. It sounded good before, now I know better. Anyways, we had a fun time. As we were about to leave we all went back to the bathrooms. On the way, Addysin exclaimed, "This is the BEST DATE EVER!" Then no more than a minute later Caiden tripped and wiplash face planted into a sharp wooden door frame! I knew right when I saw him hit that it was going to be bad. I picked him up, flipped him around and saw the giant open dent. We rushed out of there and over to the hospital. I didn't bleed very much for how deep it was, and what I would have expected.

Then no more than a minute later Caiden tripped and wiplash face planted into a sharp wooden door frame! I knew right when I saw him hit that it was going to be bad. I picked him up, flipped him around and saw the giant open dent in his forhead. We rushed out of there and over to the hospital. It didn't bleed very much for how deep it was, and what I would have expected.

He hates going to the Doctor, especially since he had just had a "traumatizing" experience the day before with getting shots (immunizations) in both legs the days before. He did not do well with that. Every time a nurse or Dr wanted to look at him, he started crying and covered his ears. Chris and I had just bought him a bucket full of Pixar Cars off of Craiglist for his birthday (that was actually the reason we even went to town in the first place that night). We gave him Lightning and Doc and that helped A TON!
They had to put him out with shots in both legs. He screamed out in pain, and thats when I lost it and started crying. He acted like he was being tortured.
When he "came to", the first thing he said was a long drawn out, "Hiiiiiii Moooooommmmmmm", then " Hiiiiii Daaaaaaaddddd". He was SOOOOOOOO HAPPY! Every nurse that walked in after that got a long "Hiiiiiiii!" Look how happy (and drugged) he is in this picture :) They were singing "popcorn". The Dr said that when he could sit up on his own that we could leave. He tryed, but his neck wouldn't hold up his head and he thought it was hillarious. He would say "woooooaaaaahhhhh!".
He went right to bed when we got home at 11:30 pm. During the night he woke up panicing about the pain that was on his face. He even wacked it a couple times, like "get off me!" This is what he looked like the next morning. He was happy  though and didn't let it slow him down. I have had to tell him all week to stop running because chances are very good that he'll hit it again. Curse of the big head.
7 stitches. Four days later... healing up really well. Tommorrow we have to go back to have them removed. They said they are going to strap him to a board so he cant move. Oh gosh, I am DREADING it! Can we just put him out with that happy drug again?

First trip to the Dentist

I've been meaning to take the kids for a long time. One morning I buckled down and called for an appt. The receptionist said they had two openings that morning so we rushed into town. I thought FOR SURE they were both going to have cavities. If I had their dental hygiene, I would have rotting teeth. I told Addysin we were going to the dentist and that they had a fun play room. She asked, "do they have horses... like a carousel?" I was thinking, okay that is random. Then we walk in and see this....
SERIOUSLY?!
Addysin did surprisingly SUPER well. We went to this awesome office called Columbia Basin Pediatric Dentistry.

When I was filling out the paperwork, one of the questions was "describe your child's personality". I think they want a "heads up" for whats about to sit in the chair. For Caiden, one of the describing words I used was "Excitable". When they took us back to the exam room there was all kinds of kids stuff, and all the characters he loved. He was EXCITED. There were about 5 chairs and many people in there. Everyone was laughing or smiling at him as he was YELLING "Wow!" "Look Mom!" and naming all the stuff he saw.

He was NOT excited to have the  hygienist brush his teeth or when the dentist took a peek. We had to hold him down as he screamed. Crazy kid.

NO CAVITIES!!!

Random Post

Addysin played outside with this sheep hat for a couple hours, she looked adorable!
Mongolian Grill to celebrate Ashley's 15th birthday.
Addysin actually ate with her chopsticks!
Caiden fell asleep on the way, slept through dinner, in the car with Chris while I went into Walmart, and we put him in bed when we got home. He then slept through the night!
Addysin thinks this is pretty funny.
She is a good builder, Caiden is a good destroyer. 5 seconds later  he knocked it over.

Swim lessons for Addysin

Addysin is a very cautious child and afraid of most things. She is extra afraid of water because she almost drowned last summer. She had just learned to use armbands/water wings and was SO excited that she could swim around on her own, just like her friend. The next time we went swimming she got so excited, and jumped in the pool without any floaties on. There were probably 4 adults out there, but nobody noticed. My friend and I were just inside (right off the pool), and she looked out and screamed! Obviously, Addysin is okay. Mentally, though, it really had an effect on her (of course!). She wont even let me wash her hair in the tub, she has to do it herself. As if I am going to force her under the water!! When she goes swimming, she wears arm bands and a tube. She FREAKS out if she thinks Caiden is in danger while in the water.
I was excited when I heard that some girls out here in the country (Eppichs) were doing swim lessons at their pool, which is about 7 minutes away. It was for 5 days straight, an hour each session. Addysin didn't really improve a ton, but I think she feels more in control. She likes to take her time learning "scary" things and I think she goes over all the basics in her mind, still. Like last night in the tub she was showing me how she could put her nose under water. Hey, that is progress!

I was planning to have Caiden also do lessons, but I forgot his swim suit the first day and he refused to get his shorts wet. Then as I watched the class I realized that Caiden would not have done well. He isn't the best at listening and obeying instruction. And he isn't patient. The kids had to sit on the side and wait their turn. He did really well being a "good boy" though for the hour each day.
Playing on the lawn mower.
Addysin loved her teachers Karigan and Kortneigh.

I feel rotten

rot·ten

–adjective wretchedly bad, unpleasant, or unsatisfactory; miserable

Yes, that is the perfect word to describe me.

I got sick a month ago with my third sinus infection this year. It was a pretty bad one. The OB gave me an antibiotic last week and it cleared it up mostly, but not totally. I still feel terrible. I am not kidding you when I say that this past month has been pretty terrible. Its just been a blur of getting through life. I get nothing accomplished. Maybe twice a week I have motivation to do productive stuff.  I AM EXHAUSTED! When I went vegan, it was because I felt a lot like this. I know I need to change my diet so I am starting today. I was gonna start yesterday but my sister in law made strawberry pizza and brownies. I ate enough dessert for 3 people (at least). I have a MAJOR sugar problem. When I try to get through a day without it, my body starts withdrawing and it makes my day worse. So I have a little.... then a little more.... then a TON more while nobody is looking. I feel better, then a while later I feel worse. When I started my vegan diet I started intense. I cut off ibuprofen, diet Dew, and only ate fruits and vegetables for like 5 days. I was literally, seriously SICK! I had to lay down all through the day because I felt like I was gonna die. Once I got past that terrible week, I never felt that way again. Even if I binged on unhealthy food and sugar for a whole weekend, it was never hard to start back up. Then the holidays came and we were only eating good half the time. Then in January I got pregnant and couldn't stomach the idea of eating healthy. Now I am in the same position I was in last July. I just want to sleep all day and I have no drive to do anything. And when I do have a busy day, it kills me. I realize I am pregnant, but I dont think I should feel this rotten.

I'm announcing to anyone that reads my blog...

TODAY I AM CHANGING MY DIET!

I'm not really sure what I am doing because, lets be honest, I am pregnant and I crave stuff. Plus, its not like I can lose weight so I'm not gonna sacrifice too much :) But I am saying goodbye to sugar and refined flour..... except once a week. This is gonna be hard. You have no idea, unless you are a sugar addict like me.

29 weeks

Today I received a great compliment from a stranger, "You are the cutest pregnant lady ever, you make me sick." Thats me. Making the world sick with my bewitching good looks.

Fourth of July weekend!

This is what we felt like all weekend... but it was so much fun!!

Chris' parents drove up from St. George, and his Brother David with his family from Salt Lake. David and Kira stayed with us. I love having company! We did a BBQ here on Saturday with Chris' family, and my parents came too.

All the boys were having a great time putting on the girl' dress ups.

Dancing :)

Swimming in the HOT pool

It was a sauna in the pool room, but Kira stills look amazing

On the 4th (Monday), we went to the breakfast at our ward at 8 am. Then on to the parade in Basin City at 10. Small town parades are so fun!

We sat with the Colby and Trisha, David and Kira, Juan, My parents, Bryan, Jessica, and John and his boys. All the McGary's were on a float.

It was perfect. Not too many kids to compete with for the candy. Addysin and Caiden LOVE Nova and Austin, their cousins.

Oh yes, Alise in the parade at 37 weeks prego!

Hey, I was standing at a bad angle! I look so much bigger and she is 8 weeks further!

David and Kira

Afterwards we went to Melissa and Ryan's for swimming and a BBQ. Caiden was so happy with all the fun boy toys they have. At one point I couldn't find him and was calling for him in the house. He came running out of the boy's room yelling "Mom, two Spidan!!!" (spiderman)

Coincidence or obsession with green?

Toothpick game

At 8:00 we got to the river for the fireworks. They didn't start until 10 so we had a lot of waiting time. Chris' family would always get there super early to eat KFC and hang out when Chris was a teenager so they thought it would be fun. It wasn't not fun. I just dont want to do that again.

Joe and Alanna met up with us with some delish cookies. You can always count on her for some yummy treats.

My cuties

I am so exhausted now. Today was really productive and I had a ton of energy until 5:00. Now I'm so tired I feel like I'm gonna die, but my kids are in bed so I am trying to stay caught up on this blog. Super fun weekend and the perfect example of what the 4th should be like. Thanks for driving up David, Kira, Chuck, and Carol. Its great to be with family!
